Members,

Yesterday at our State of the Industry presentation in New Orleans, environmental activists calling themselves the Bucket Brigade attempted to derail the luncheon and change the narrative of the issues facing our state and industry. They were loud but ineffective, and after a few minutes of disruption, the police escorted them out.

This political stunt was a perfect reminder that the groups against our oil and gas businesses, communities, and families, are constantly using their voices, their time, and their social media platforms to try to malign and displace Louisiana's energy producers.

It is clear that we must GET IN THE RING and make our voices heard. Two specific calls to action come to mind:

1.) VOTE. Early voting is open now until tomorrow. Find out where your polling location is at the GeauxVote.com website, and learn who our PACs endorsed at www.geauxelections.com.

2.) SHARE. The full story of our industry is not known. The festivals we sponsor, the jobs we create, the scholarships we fund, the toy drives we support - all of those stories are lost. So snap pictures of your business's community activities and share what you're doing on Social Media. We'd like to help you with that - reach out to us and we'll come do a training on social media for your whole team.

Get in the ring!
