This program was created exclusively for members of LOGA. As an association, we challenged our Benefit Consultants, HUB International, to utilize the leverage of over 650 member companies to negotiate with the carriers to develop this program. Our objectives were threefold. First, find savings for our members. Second, match or improve the current benefit provisions. And third, determine if a revenue source existed for LOGA. All three objectives were achieved.

FAQs – LOGA Members with Less Than 500 Employees
Q. What is the LOGA Member Benefits Advantage program?

A. This program was created exclusively for members of LOGA.  As an association, we challenged our Benefit Consultants, HUB International, to utilize the leverage of over 450 member companies to negotiate with the carriers to develop this program.  Our objectives were threefold.  First, find savings for our members.  Second, match or improve the current benefit provisions. And third, determine if a revenue source existed for LOGA.  All three objectives were achieved.

Q. What benefits or lines of coverage are in this program?
A.  Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability. These benefits can be either employer paid, employee paid (voluntary), or combination thereof.

Q. Is my company guaranteed 10% savings? 
A. If your company is accepted into the program, the 10% savings to both employer paid and employee paid benefits is guaranteed. 

Q.  How am I “accepted” into the program?
A.  Each LOGA member will have the opportunity to submit their own company data through HUB.  HUB will then go to our chosen carrier, Assurant, to assess the risk of accepting your group into this association plan.  By our contract with Assurant, 80% of member companies must be accepted into the program.

Q. Why should Assurant only accept 80% of the members? 
A.  Like any business, you must be profitable to stay in business and an 80% acceptance rate is very strong in our industry.  The ability to decline high risks is critical for the association plan to remain healthy and viable for the benefit of all participating members.

Q. Will my benefit provisions be cut back in order to obtain the guaranteed savings?
A.  No. In fact, we expect most will be enhanced. HUB has negotiated with Assurant that each members’ contract for each line of coverage will be matched or improved. 

Q. How long are my rates guaranteed?
A.  A minimum of 2 years, and potentially 3 or more.

Q. When do I have to decide to join the LOGA Member Benefits Advantage program? 
A. We have negotiated with HUB to roll this program out to our members starting in September 2011 and continuing for the next 2 years.  However, the sooner you join, the sooner you and your employees can realize the savings!

Q. Will my company have its own contract, or will I be part of a master LOGA contract?
A.  Each company will stand on its own and have their own contract.

Q.  How does this program benefit LOGA?
A.  LOGA will be responsible for marketing this program to our members.  As such we were able to negotiate a marketing fee to be paid by Assurant. This additional revenue source will allow LOGA to efficiently serve our members and help offset rising operating costs.

Q. Can I utilize my current broker or will I have to go through HUB?
A. The broker of record for this program is HUB International. A significant amount of their time, energy and negotiation went into the development of the LOGA Member Benefits Advantage program.

Q. Do any other benefits qualify under this plan?
A.  Not at this time. It was felt we should initially launch this program with a limited line of benefits. Depending upon the success, we have left the door open for future association offerings.

Q. I currently do not offer any of these benefits to my employees but would now like to do so.  Can I do this under the LOGA Member Benefits Advantage program?
A.  Absolutely. Simply return the letter of interest and explain your benefit needs to the HUB Representative.

Q. Why should I join?
A. Three wins! 1)  Your company can save 10% on these benefits; 2) Your employees will save 10% on any voluntary benefits; 3) The program generates revenue for LOGA.  Win-Win-Win!

Q. How do I get started and how long does the process take?
A. Simply return the enclosed “Letter of Interest” to LOGA – email, fax or mail. LOGA will then notify HUB of your interest and a Representative will contact you for a meeting. At the meeting HUB will walk you through the process and gather the required information to send to Assurant.  At this point you will have an answer back within 5 business days. We will inform you of Assurant’s results and if accepted move on to the enrollment phase. HUB will then coordinate a personalized enrollment and implementation strategy for you and your employees.
